El Toro Tapas- & Cocktailbar in Bonn

recieved phone call from staff member to advise that our order which had just been sent out would not have the meatballs as ordered as they were not up to standard, instead of calling before the order went out to see if these items could be substituted with something else we simply had to accept less food, and therefore did not not have enough food to feed everyone as one person missed out on what they ordered. Poor form.

Good casual friendly family dining. Had tasty food, reasonable prices and friendly service. The calamari (and all the tapas) and the ribs were beautiful. The sangrias was very tasty too !

Pizza was undercooked, and toppings were unpleasant. Delivery took an hour longer than predicted and were stone cold on arrival. The pizzas were also damaged and pushed to the back of the box. Incredibly disappointing. Never again.

We had ordered through uber eats since there was a promotion going on, but the entire experience was pretty dissatisfactory in the end. We had purchase 3 pizzas in total, a chicken and avocado pizza, greek lamb, and the nutella pizza. They were all priced unreasonably IMO, but we had only ordered because the promotion made it more tolerable. The only good pizza was the greek lamb pizza by far, as the other two were an extreme let down. Firstly, the nutella pizza was labelled as "medium size," the same size as the other pizzas we had ordered. However, upon receiving the order, it was very clear that this was false, since the nutella pizza was significantly smaller than the other two pizzas we purchased. It was honestly the biggest rip off, where a restaurant could charge customers $15 for a pizza that probably cost a few dollars to make. Toppings were not even in great amounts, like they could very well have used only half a banana for this entire thing, and maybe 2 strawberries. Clearly, we have learnt that we may as well make our own nutella pizzas with the 15 dollars instead of spending it here. The other two pizzas were good, but one was pretty awful. I had the greek lamb, whereas my partner had the chicken and avo, and we could notice that something was off about these pizzas, particularly hers. After having a look back at the menu, we noticed that they had put the incorrect toppings onto our pizzas, putting feta on the greek lamb instead of the chicken and avocado. This might sound like a tiny mistake, but it severely caused the latter pizza to be so tasteless, dry, and practically half a pizza. The presentation of the pizza was also poor, and it felt like they had gathered a team of careless chefs to make our pizza. Albeit the disappointment, the greek lamb was undeniable tasty, likely due to the addition of the incorrectly placed topping. I would probably never return here because of this poor first impression, and the obvious lack of care put into our foods.

We were very happy when El Toro was at Maroubra beach. So far we did order pizzas from Anzac Pde restaurant before corona situation, either pick up or take away. Recently we ordered take away pizza, it was $26 and $5 delivery. What we got was a shock: sparse vegetables, poor topping, poor look and poor taste, I couldn't believe my eyes. I regret I didn't take a photo. Neither I was thinking about leaving review but, I think it is my right as a customer to do so. We won't order any more, for $31 at least it should be a proper pizza, not such a poor piece.

We ordered El Toro burger with bacon, cheese, pickels, tomato, lettuce, onion, pattie and mayo but what we've got was only mayo, lettuce, tomato and pattie!?!?! After several unsuccessful calling to the store someone called back and said they will deliver new burger. Its been 2hrs no delivery yet. Very uncaring and disappointing service and unorganized place. Definitely will not recommend to anyone and not come back either. So after 2,5hrs our new burger got delivered and it contains everything we asked for as we were really looking for it.Very happy that everything got fixed. Thank you for that guys!

Ordered pizza and churros, pizza dough tasted undercooked with no toppings but a few tomatoes?! Churros also undercooked. Won't order again.

We've been happy customers of El Toro Tapas for years, but over the past 9 months, the service has gone down hill dramatically. Delivery to an address 8 minutes drive away shouldn't take too long, yet the last few times we've ordered, we've had to wait almost two hours to receive our food. Last night was especially bad- we ordered our food at 6:20 and didn't receive it until 9:20. Three hours is outrageous. When I tried calling them several times over the hours, the phone was disconnected or not available, and I had to reach out to them on Facebook, but have yet to receive a response there despite them having seen that message. Our order did finally arrive three hours later, but only after we'd placed another order with another company, as we weren't sure if El Toro Tapas was even open for business anymore. When it arrived, the El Toro Tapas staff member was completely unapologetic and had to be asked why the delivery took so long when we only live 8 minutes away. He claimed the driver had a flat tire, which honestly seemed like a lie to fob us off at that point. When I asked that they call customers to let them know when this happens, as their lack of communication meant we weren't sure if we should wait for our order or not, and that their phone was disconnected when we tried calling them, he just shrugged and smiled, with zero apologies. They clearly don't care very much about their customer service at this point. The cherry on top was that when we opened the pizza boxes, we found that the pizza bases were some kind of store bought frozen prepackaged pizza base, and not at all home made dough anymore. I honestly don't understand how a business can mess up this badly and still expect to retain customers, but I know for a fact we won't be ordering from them again. A real shame, as they used to be our favourites in the area.

Dont usually leave reviews unless necessary...Ever thought of paying $23 dollars for some napoli sauce and three prawns then look no further than el toro's. Want six pieces of dusted calamari for $15 look no further than el toro's. Absolute joke of portion sizes will never eat from here again.

My sister and i ordered pizza and pasta via deliveroo and were initially told we would receive our delivery in half an hour but we waited over two hours and then had to ring instead of them calling us to apologise. They said they didn't have a driver so we cancelled the order and are still waiting on a refund! Terrible communication! Wont order from you or deliveroo again!

Must be good, it advertises gingham tablecloths!! However, my suspicion is that they don’t really understand excellent tapas - they need to travel.

Didn't follow food requirement and was very oily as well as overpowering with spices, definately not enjoyable. Called to let them know and was pretty much dismissed with "yeah yeah yeah" response. Sounded like they didn't care so not using them again.

*FOUND A STAINLESS STEEL SCREW IN MY PIZZA* Ordered 2 pizzas and a pasta for my kids and I; mid way through the chicken pizza I bit into a stainless steel screw. Thankfully it wasn’t my little ones slice. Completely unacceptable!! I rang the shop, was told there was no manager coming in tonight (on a Saturday night), asked that the owner be notified and he was to call back within half hour. 1 hour gone and still no contact to discuss. Will NEVER order from here again and I urge you to be cautious if you do.

Their smoked pork pizza is the bomb, so full of flavour! Their menu is kinda pricey in the area but they always have special deals on, which hooks me in to try their specialised pizza menu.

We invited some friends into the restaurant for the first time and surprisingly that a tiny restaurant has a such high standard of service. The food quality also has a very high standard. No doubt that I will be coming here to try the others dishes. Well done El Toro!!

Paella was freshly made, perfectly cooked rice (not overcooked mush),, with additional touches of ingredients, like tiny pieces of green onions and beautiful roasted capsicum. Planning to work our way through the menu over time...

Was not impressed by the ambience or the food. People walked in through the kitchen. Potatoes for the bravas were overcooked. The sweet honey mustard sauce for the chicken croquettes tasted bland and didn't enhance the flavour. The menu seems more focussed on burgers and pizzas than tapas. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like it used to be a good place on the beach but since moving to the junction, has lost its charm.

The food was mediocre at best. My friend ordered a medium steak and was given a rare steak. Found the food extremely overpriced and would have been better off cooking at home. Found the food to be more Spanish inspired than actual Spanish food. The Outback steakhouse of Spanish food it seems.

The best Ribs in Maroubra

Went to this place after being a frequent customer of El Toro when it was by Maroubra Beach - be warned, the only thing that’s the same is the name. The quality of the food isn’t at all the same and 80% of the dishes we ordered were pretty awful. The menu has completely changed, despite the old menu still being the one advertised on the website. The food when El Toro was by Maroubra Beach was top notch - the stuff we had here was overpriced and not great. Our dinner took almost 2 hours to arrive while tables all around us, who had arrived long after we did, were served before us. Two dishes we ordered didn’t arrive at all, despite us chasing these more than once. We were only told our chicken skewers were unavailable 90 minutes after we first ordered. Despite actually writing down which dishes we wanted as starters and which we wanted as mains, they arrived mixed up and late (if they even arrived at all!). In the end, we told them to cancel the dishes that hadn’t arrived as we just wanted to get out of this place and enjoy what was left of our evening. I actually felt sorry for the manager and waitress - both were exceedingly apologetic and the manager knocked money off for the dishes we didn’t receive and did give us vouchers to apologise. That said, I’m pretty sure we won’t be back to use them as the whole experience left a nasty taste in my mouth.

I love this place. They have moved from the beach up to Maroubra junction but nothing has changed. Food is always excellent. Very tasty and exceptional quality. Marshall really knows his stuff when it comes to quality food. Good prices, great food and atmosphere keeps me and my lady coming back. 5 star in my book.

This place is on a Sydney beach and they serve some Spanish dishes. But I have to tell you that Spanish is not spoken. And that no matter how hard they are missing a lot so that they are equal to Spanish food. Keep in mind that in the bay of Sydney there is another res. With the same name.
